What’s cooking, guys?

After two cult classics Dev.D and Udaan, UTV Spotboy and Anurag Kashyap have come together again. This time they’re dishing out a wholesome family entertainer, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana.
The shooting started in Punjab last week, and celebrates the lovable quirks of a Punjabi joint family with its inherent humour, drama, confusion, emotion and the secret recipe for a famous chicken curry called ‘Chicken Khurana’, which forms the crux of the plot.
Amit Trivedi, the composer of past hits like Aamir, Dev.D and Udaan, will compose the music and background score for the film. The film marks the directorial debut of Sameer Sharma, with Anurag Kashyap as creative producer, and Jar Entertainment as line producer. Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi (from the upcoming film Gangs of Wasseypur) are in the lead roles, along with an ensemble cast. LSTCK is slated for release in mid-2012.
Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures says, “Anurag shared this script with us and we instantly fell in love with the characters and the world that the writers Sumit and Sameer have created. Very few stories can make you laugh one moment and bring a lump to your throat the next, and LSTCK maintains that delicate balance throughout. We’re happy to be working with Anurag after two huge successes together. Here’s to a hat trick!”
Anurag adds, “UTV, Amit and I have done some good stuff together in the past, and we hope to repeat the same with Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. It’s everything that the title says. And the Shuv between the Luv and the chicken is what is more fun. Sameer has been a very good writer and collaborator, and what he and Sumit Batheja have come up with — topped with Amit Trivedi’s garnish — might turn LSTCK into the dish of 2012.”
